Merle snatched the pint from Baze's benumbed hands. "Clearly, you are too far gone in your cups. No cheering for the SKs, remember?"
Merle stomped off.
Baze stared aghast at her suddenly-empty hands.
"No! Merle, I didn't mean it! Please! Must... have... drink..."
Merle set a fresh salt-rimmed glass in front of Wizz, then turned to Baze. "Well, alright. But only because I really really like you." He handed her a fresh pint of Guinness.
If you are wondering who is going to win the World Cup 2002...
Here is the answer!
Brazil last won the world cup in 1994.
Before that they won it in 1970.
Add 1970 and 1994, it equals 3964.
Argentina last won the world cup in 1986.
Before that they won it in 1978.
Add 1978 and 1986, it equals 3964.
Germany last won in 1990.
Before that they won in 1974.
Add 1990 and 1974, it equals 3964.
So going by this logic, the winner of the 2002 world cup is the same as the 3964 - 2002 = 1962 world cup.
The 1962 world cup was won by Brazil.
So, it is going to Brazil the Winner ?
Now, having brought all this arithmetic and alchemy to bear on the World Cup, Merle...can I have a refill on the margarita, please?

Not wanting to offened Merle and cut off her supply of Guinness, PC struggled with asking the question that was on everyones mind....
"Whats the matter with cheering for South Korea?"
Pssst...Prof!
Order your drink first.
Then take a sip, so it cannot be removed when...
You then ask the waiter about a sensitive issue.
No, I have no clue either, but at least I got my margarita first.

So, Merle...just curious, ya know. Upset a bit about the way the South Koreans played in the World Cup? Then knowing that Germany eliminated them must give you some sort of solace. Nice margarita, by the way...
Ah, Wizz, my man, just a little miffed at the way the SK fans treated the US squad. They're still in a tiff over their short track speed skater getting DQ'd for pushing Apolo. So they were nasty. But hey, more Americans died in France than in Korea, so why shoud we expect the SKs to be thankful?
It's the 4th of July .... is everybody drunk yet?
Barkeep, a mudslide please! UH, the drink, not a actual mudslide...
Happy fourth to you all!
Belated happy fourth of July! How are the hangovers?
Merle sauntered through Da Bar, slapping the patrons in the back of the head. "Wake up! Wake up! Party's over! Someone's gotta pay the tab, not to mention the standard 45% gratuity....."
Baze's eyes snapped open. "45% gratuity? You've gotta be kidding, mate!"
The door troll sauntered over at that, and simply stood, glowering down at her.
"Ah. Well maybe 45% doesn't sound too bad..."
Nomad woke up and looked at Merle. His head still spinning and his face turning green...he went to run out the door but made it all of 4 feet. He let loose all over Merle.
Sorry pal! Didn't quite make it.
UM...since I lost 80 % of what i drank, does that mean O only owe 45% of 20%?
Nomad then falls backwards and passes out.
You've gotta admire a bloke who can do maths even when totally annihilated. You go, Nommy! Oh, er... can someone help me drag him into a dark corner? He'll appreciate the dark when he wakes up!
What happened? Nommy falls down and all the lights went out.
MERLE!!!!!!! I need a bitters and Soda, an aspirin and a beer please!
"Oh, Mr. Nomad, Sir, let me get that right away for you, sir! And let me thank you so much for tossing your cookies all over me! So much better than a tip, I must say! Mr. Nomad is so thoughtful!"
Nomad began to look worried as Merle came out from behind the bar, a wicked gleam in his eye.
"Really, let me help you out, kind, generous, thoughtful Mr. Nomad. Take this, it'll be good for what ails you."
Nomad looked skeptical, but the troll growled menacingly, so Nomad drank what was in the cup Merle was offering him. He gagged. He clutched his throat. He fell over on the floor. He writhed in agony. Then his features blurred, and his limbs began to contort, until Nommy looked just like..........

http://www.panhistoria.com/Stacks/No...manMunster.jpg

Nomad sat up. He felt 500% better. Felt big and strong without the slightest hint of a hangover.
Thanks Merle...I knew you could help. OK, if you please, I would like to set up the get Ian drunk fund behind the bar. Ill buy his first 3 drafts of whatever he wants.
Nommmy sat down at the table , grinning.
He looked around at everybody... "HEY whataya starinfg at...Like Ove never bought a round before. Hmf.
Hey, rounds for everyone until I'm unconcious! (this may take some time...)

Cheers!
Sorry Im late, it appears that i woke up and thought I looked like a monster. Sheesh.....
Cheers Ian!
Nope, Nommy, not a "monster." But you do look like a "Munster!"
On that not...LoL...I am heading to Maine for the long weekend!
Nommy comes through the door with a blaze of a fire behind him , in mid air. He mutters a few wpords and the vines in the ceiling open up. He walks the fire over to the middle of the floow and orders am pithcer from Merle.
OK everyone, I had such a good time getting sloshed in front of a small bon fire, I thought I'd share.
: Anyone got marshmellos?
Nomad buys Prof Crash a drink of her choice and cheers her.
AsIs settles down at her table with her Nommy to English dictionary and starts looking up words.
"Ah, someone with a bit of wit at last," purred Merle, seeing AsIs. "And what may I get for you?"
After a long absence, Ran walks in and after blowing the dust off the table...and the chair....and the little candles on the tables which really don't provide much light but I guess are there for something called "ambience", he sits down.
I've been to a bunch of faires lately and they've all been dry. So I am rather parched. Let's change that.....
Nomad thinks about the up coming King Richards Fair..Hmmmm... There be Ents there also.
Good to see a bunch of old friends together at a place of imbibing.
Malibu and Orange juice please.
I propose a toast, "To good friends!"
Rantarn stands up to toast and ...
Hey! I don't have a drink yet!
(And Nommy, I probably won't be going this year to KRF since they raised their prices again. The Connecticut Ren Faire is extremely good other than being dry. I'm heading back there Sunday.)
Still not having a drink. Rantarn takes matters into his own hands. Walking behind the bar and into the back room, he sees a large number of casks, kegs, and bottles. Selecting a fine vintage ale, he fills a tankard and returns to the main room.
OK, now, much better. Azziz, here here!
Merle walked purposely up to Rantarn. "That'll be 6.75 for the import. And don't foget my tip."
Rantarn's jaw dropped, wondering how Merle could expect a tip for a drink he didn't serve!
PC awoke from her slumber "This is Merle we are talking about. Breathing at one of his tables requires a gratuity."
Noticing Merle, she waves him over and asks for a Guinness. Once it has been delivered she decides that she has to be honest with him. "I went to Skyline Chile today and I have to say, I didn't think it was all that good. The cheese doesn't melt, I guess it is not suppose to, and it is served on spaghetti. It was kind of like a weird pasta dish. Sorry, I know how much you like it but I think it is one of those regional things, like Verners Soda."
Yeah, Nommy, like I always said, it's not "chili" like you are used to. First, no beans. Second, I'd say it's more sweet than hot, though it does have a little fire. Skyline is not a Tex-Mex recipe. In fact, the creators of Skyline Chili are Greek. A three way, which is what it sounds like Crash had, is spaghetti, chili and grated cheddar cheese. You cut and scoop, not spin, the spaghetti. The cheese eventually melts into a cap over the chili.
Crash, you don't offend me not liking something I like. Could be too, it just wasn't what you expected. ::shrugs::
Actually I had a five way. (shrugs) I guess I like tradtional chile better. Sorry.
"What? No Good ole fashioned Bowl of Chile with Melting Cheddar cheese on it?" , Says Nommay as he orders another pitcher of Sammy from Merle.
I've looked at all the maps I could get my hands on, looking for "Skyline, Chile", but Santiago is the closest I've found.
Maybe it's a town near the southern tip, where you eat chili when it's chilly in Chile?

LOL Hey Wizz? Want a margarita?
Hey, Prof...thanks but I've got one here myself that Merle brought over.
However, if you need a care package from San Francisco, I'm sure FedEx still delivers.
